The ASCP Foundation is the research and education affiliate of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. The ASCP Foundation seeks to:
  • Improve the health and well-being of older persons through appropriate, effective, and safe medication use.
  • Provide leadership, innovation, and expertise in medicines and aging to seniors and those who care for them.
  • Develop, integrate, and apply knowledge regarding medication use in the senior population and the practice of senior care pharmacy to optimize health care outcomes.
ASCP members — and the patients they serve — directly benefit from the Foundation’s programs and initiatives in the areas of RESEARCH, EDUCATION, PRACTICE, and VISIBILITY.
  • The Fleetwood Project — a landmark research initiative to demonstrate the impact of consultant pharmacy services on patient outcomes and health care costs and to improve quality of care for nursing facility residents.
  • Pharmacotherapy Traineeships — empowering, intensive, interdisciplinary education programs that transform the way pharmacists see themselves as healthcare professionals.
  • Medication Adherence Toolkit for Older Adults — tools to assist health professionals and community-based senior service providers identify older adults at risk for medication nonadherence, detect nonadherence, and intervene to improve nonadherent behavior.

The ASCP Foundation — a 501(c)(3) charitable organization — relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations to accomplish its mission. There are numerous ways to support the Foundation. Visit the Foundation’s donation page and make a contribution today.
